Stereoscopic 3D Viewer Release 1.0.0.34288

This release, CtrlAltStudio Viewer 1.0.0.34288, updates the stable stereoscopic 3D viewer with a number of improvements and fixes.

Changes this version include:

  • Added Ctrl-Alt-3 keyboard shortcut that toggles stereoscopic 3D on/off.
  • Added work-around to get stereoscopic 3D working with AMD Radeon on Windows.
  • Fixed world not being updated after leaving stereoscopic 3D display mode.
  • Fixed flycam with 3Dconnexion SpaceNavigator in stereoscopic 3D.
  • Fixed projected light rendering in stereoscopic 3D.
  • Fixed shift-drag object selection when editing in stereoscopic 3D.

More details are provided in the Release Notes. Note that this version does not include Oculus Rift support; see the 1.1 series of alpha viewers if you want Rift support.

Downloads:

If you have the previous 1.0.0.34218 release installed then you can install this new version over the top, otherwise it is recommended that you do a clean install.

Alpha 3 of the CtrlAltStudio Viewer with Oculus Rift Support

This alpha, CtrlAltStudio Viewer 1.1.0.34268, has a number of improvements and fixes plus now there’s a Mac OSX version. Many thanks to Cinder Roxley for the Mac OSX code changes and build!

Changes include:

  • Added looking around with the Rift in 3rd person view.
  • Added Max OSX support.
  • Fixed projected light not being rendered correctly.
  • Fixed bad display with only Basic Shaders turned on.
  • Fixed Rift full screen resolution being used for normal and stereoscopic 3D full screen.

Alpha 2 of the CtrlAltStudio Viewer with Oculus Rift Support

I’ve published a new alpha release of the CtrlAltStudio Viewer which adds and fixes a number of things to improve your Rifting experience: CtrlAltStudio Viewer 1.1.0.34256.

Changes include:

  • Added a standing operation mode in which “forwards” is the direction the Rift is pointed in.
  • Added a seated operation option to have left/right keys strafe and shift-left/right turn.
  • Added the ability to enter Riftlook mode without a Rift connected.
  • Fixed lighting not being rendered correctly for the right eye.
